Supporting our causes
As an association working for environmental and humanitarian causes, we’re asking for your help and support to help us change Madagascar and participate in our actions. We’re not necessarily asking you to support us financially, but here are a few ways in which you can lend us a hand:
Participate in eco-responsible travel :
Taking part in eco-responsible travel in Madagascar is crucial for a number of reasons. Firstly, Madagascar is home to a unique biodiversity with an exceptional level of endemism, which means that many species of plants and animals are found nowhere else on the planet and must be protected. Practising eco-responsible tourism helps to preserve these precious natural resources by minimising the environmental impact of our tourism activities and supporting conservation efforts. In addition, eco-tourism promotes the sustainable development of local communities by creating economic sources that depend on the preservation of the environment, rather than its destructive exploitation. By opting for environmentally-friendly travel practices, visitors also help to educate local populations and other travellers about the importance of sustainability and conservation.
Bring school kites and support local education :
Bring whatever you can. Providing school kits and supporting local education is very important to us. Firstly, by improving access to education, we are giving the younger generation the tools they need to understand environmental issues and adopt responsible behaviour towards nature. An educated population is more likely to participate actively in the conservation of Madagascar’s natural biodiversity and cultural wealth, and to promote sustainable practices within their communities. What’s more, by supporting education, you are helping to reduce poverty, which is intrinsically linked to environmental degradation. Families with access to quality education are better equipped to develop alternative and sustainable livelihoods, reducing their dependence on destructive activities such as deforestation, hunting and illegal export. It also enables them to become key players in protecting their environment. Finally, the distribution of school kits demonstrates our commitment to improving the general well-being of local communities, creating a bond of trust and cooperation that is essential to the success of our projects. By supporting education, we are planting the seeds for a future where local communities are fully engaged and empowered in protecting their environment and improving their quality of life.
Stay in local establishments or with local people :
By choosing local or eco-friendly accommodation options, you contribute directly to the local economy by helping families and small businesses to thrive. Also, these experiences encourage enriching cultural exchanges between visitors and locals, leading to greater mutual understanding and awareness of conservation issues. Direct interaction with locals allows travellers to understand the challenges and opportunities these communities face, and to see conservation and sustainable development efforts in action at first hand, while discovering how you can help.
Homestay accommodation also promotes sustainable tourism practices, significantly reducing the environmental impact of our travels. These accommodation options are often more environmentally friendly, as they use local resources and traditional construction methods, minimising the ecological footprint.
Last but not least, this form of tourism strengthens the social fabric of local communities by creating bonds of trust and cooperation between locals and visitors. This contributes to a more stable and resilient environment, where communities are better equipped to protect their environment and improve their quality of life.
Make a donation:
We also accept donations, whether in kind or financial. Your donations can help our association in several ways.
Your financial contributions directly or indirectly fund our reforestation, conservation and local community support projects. These funds are essential for purchasing tree seedlings, equipment and materials needed for our field initiatives. In addition, your donations can help to organise educational and awareness-raising programmes, which are fundamental to instilling sustainable and responsible practices in local communities.
Financial contributions can also be used to provide school kits and other educational resources, which will improve access to education and build the capacity of younger generations to understand and act to protect their environment. Donations in kind, such as medical supplies, clothing, food and bushfire fighting equipment, help to meet the immediate needs of vulnerable populations. This helps to improve their quality of life and resilience in the face of socio-economic and environmental challenges.
Finally, by supporting our association through donations, you help us to maintain and develop our network of local and international partners, which strengthens our ability to implement large-scale, long-term projects.
